I decided to start this second blog to have a place to share tidbits of my daily life, and to talk about our life as a married couple. I want a place to talk about everyday things, music and movies I love, and the people I enjoy being around. I'll post about the things we waste our time doing, and probably a lot of our wedding pics too to be honest. That's right, I'm one of those annoying girls who still loves to look at her wedding pictures 7 months later.
I got the name for this new blog from a Neil Young song, Harvest Moon (duh). Neil Young was a big part of our marriage, although I am sure he is unaware of it. Josh proposed using my favorite Neil Young song. We used his song Silver & Gold for the parents' and bridesmaids' processional in our ceremony, and then we used Harvest Moon for our last dance. It is completely impossible for there to have been a more appropriate song. We did actually get married on the Harvest Moon, but more than that the words and the sentiment in them fit us, and that moment, to a T.
Come a little bit closer
Hear what I have to say
Just like children sleepin'
We could dream this night away.
But there's a full moon risin'
Let's go dancin' in the light
We know where the music's playin'
Let's go out and feel the night.
Because I'm still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
On this harvest moon.
When we were strangers
I watched you from afar
When we were lovers
I loved you with all my heart.
But now it's gettin' late
And the moon is climbin' high
I want to celebrate
See it shinin' in your eye.
Because I'm still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
On this harvest moon.

Sweet moon harvesting.
That is such a pretty poem. Jessica, thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful comment on my blog this morning. What you said is what I see as I have studied this issue (one very close to my heart). I see that the current way things are is unfair to business and unfair to workers and I didn't even get into the many other problems on both sides. See there I go again. I just wanted to write and tell you how much I appreciated your taking the time to share those thoughts. I really appreciate it. :)
ps. love the new blog and the old blog. :)
You got married on the Harvest Moon? How romantic is that?
I just randomly came across your blog and had to comment because my husband and I used this song for our first dance at our wedding! We must be kindred spirits. :)
