Friday ConeZone #12- Party Edition
Our Conan birthday party is tonight so I'm busy tidying house and getting things ready. I'm a little too busy for a full ConeZone post today, so here's a cute Conan pic instead. I used this for the FB party invite. Also, if you weren't already in the know, you can get the inside scoop on what's going down with Conan's tour by checking out the Teamcoco. com Blog, updated by Aaron Bleyaert. All sorts of little tidbits you can learn about the tour experiences they're having. Have a great weekend and I'll fill you in on our Conan party next week!

Josh's 30th Birthday
I didn't get a chance to post about it yesterday thanks to a super busy work day , but it was Josh's 30th birthday! We slept in a little yesterday morning as a treat. He had ice cream cake at work, and after drum lessons came home for nice birthday dinner of pizza, champagne and tiramisu. I bought him Resident Evil 5 for PS3 and the latest Stephen King book, which both pleased him very much. We spent the evening eating and watching Kids In The Hall episodes. He said he had a very happy birthday, and I'm very glad!

Josh's Christmas Gifts 2009
Once again, Josh has promised to not peek so that I might share with you what he'll be finding from me under the Christmas tree this year. Josh actually asked for some stuff this year, and pretty early in the season too, so I had an easy task ahead of me. Didn't take me too long to decide what to get for him. Here's a peek at his presents. His gifts look a lot more colorful compared to last year's.
The Complete Monty Python's 16-Ton Megaset: Flying Circus, Justice, Volume 1 graphic novel, Mirror's Edge for PS3, Striped sweater from Old Navy (sold out), Moongel dampening gels (stocking stuffer), Flight of the Conchords Season 2 DVD, The Acid House by Irvine Welsh, digital tuner and metranome, Drumsticks and brushes (stocking stuffers)

Weekend Fun
I am looking forward to a weekend full of fun and hopefully some progress too. Just what am I anticipating?
Tonight- Packing up our picnic supplies and heading out to Concert in the Garden for an evening of jazz, food and fireworks.
Saturday- Heading to Goodwill and HomeGoods with Holly and getting several projects around the house wrapped up (some of them quite literally).
Sunday- Seeing Josh's band, Fate Lions, and many others at the Fort Worth Weekly Music Awards Festival. If you're feeling very generous today you could do us a favor and zip on over to that link and vote for Fate Lions. They've been nominated for Rock Band, Rock Album of the Year, and Rock Song of the Year. They were also recently the feature story in the Weekly's Music section.

Big Sis
Well, I'll be off on trip number two tomorrow. I'm heading down to my dad's house in South Texas for my baby sister's high school graduation. I seriously can't believe that she's 18 already....cause that means I'm....never mind. Anyway, not only are we a trio of lovely ladies, but we're also a bunch of smarty-pants. I was valedictorian of my class, Nicci was salutatorian, and Lindsey is carrying on the tradition as salutatorian of Van Vleck High School's class of 2009! Feel free to be intimidated by our incredibly large brains. :) Can't wait to see everyone and give Lindsey a big congratulations hug!

Ooh, Fancy
Have you heard? One of our wonderful museums got a real gem of a painting. Only the earliest known work of Michelangelo. Jealous much? Maybe you can see it when it's officially presented at the Metropolitan Museum in NYC. Cause after that it's headed west. I took this pic way back in September during a visit to the Kimbell.
